The work forms part of ?Flight Coach', a project providing technological improvements to pilot feedback and judging in precision aerobatics. An on-board flight logger is used to record information during a precision aerobatic flight. A template data set representing the flown sequence is then constructed and aligned to the flight. The template is adjusted to match the scale of the recorded flight, and a comparative assessment is performed. This work offers a significant contribution to the sport of precision aerobatics, but also develops tools and processes that could be applied more widely in areas such as pilot training.
