    Abstract

    High visibility (V = 0.985) single photon fringe measurements in a 10 km long, optical fibre-based, time- and polarisation-division Mach-Zehnder interferometer are reported. The ability of the system to transmit key data in a quantum cryptography scheme is assessed.
