Abstract
This paper presents an experimental assessment of the transmission performance and all-optical label swapping for an orthogonal amplitude-shift keying-frequency-shift keying (ASK/FSK) labeled signal. Transmission through different dispersion maps with various compensation schemes and fiber types is investigated. All-optical label erasure, reinsertion, and multihop transmission are experimentally demonstrated. © 2005 Optical Society of America.
