Fundamental effectiveness of structural damage identification using genetic algorithm

Abstract

A structural damage identification method using genetic algorithm is proposed. A method using partial information containing partially accurate information such as experimental results and theoretical estimation of structural damage is proposed, and the distribution of elastic modulus reduction by damage is evaluated using partial information. Importance of partial information and the effect of information quality on the accuracy of evaluation are examined by giving some accurate partial information about damage. The result shows that better partial information brings about accuracy of higher evaluation, and that it gives less effect of partial information error to evaluation.
