Abstract
The development of software radio drives a requirement for octave-band linear amplifiers. Here, one linearisation technique, feedforward, is presented as an applicable architecture for this requirement. The realisation of this architecture requires octave-band operation from its sub-components. Two techniques are compared that facilitate this need within gain stages-linear compensation and direct RF feedback
