Abstract
This position paper outlines the nature of the challenges of climate change adaptation a nd the many roles that ICTs (Information and Communications Technologies) can play in helping communities and wider society meet those challenges. It further argues that the HCI community has a critically important role to play in the development of effect ive ICT for adaptation activities and programmes at conceptual and strategic levels as well as at the level of individual projects.
