Abstract

From 4 months before the beginning of my first AHRC Creative Research fellowship (2007 - 2010) I have maintained a constant online presence in the form of a blog which detailed the evolving subject area of Digital Motion Imaging, variously termed Electronic Cinematography, Digital Cinematography and Data Cinematography. This is a different form from Digital Video for a set of differentiating reasons. As with my Verbatim History of Digital Cinematography which is in the form of online interviews with people who have been at the cutting edge of this new medium, I felt that as there had been very few verbatim reports from the actual practitioners of the then new medium from around the time of the birth of film, I did not want this to happen with High Resolution Motion Imaging (almost exactly 100 years later in a similar mirror period). This online text resource maps the fast developing changes since May 2007.
