How do we define and measure strength of a composite?

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference Contribution (Conference Proceeding)

Abstract

The outputs from a series of online workshops on defining and measuring strength of composites and the factors affecting it are presented. The meaning of the strength of a composite is discussed and a definition is proposed. Issues in measuring fibre direction tensile and compressive strength are discussed, with potential ways to overcome them. Recommendations are made on how to use the term strength, and how to address the remaining challenges.
