Abstract
Effects of the mismatch between pre- and post-processing matrices in MIMO systems employing singular value decomposition are studied and quantified for the case of conventional, single-description video
transmission. Results that justify the use of multiple-description coding to combat errors are presented. In addition, a simple way to mitigate the loss of orthogonality is investigated which restores performance levels to those obtained with a full CSI approach.
