Abstract

As a consequence of the earlier tour of IOPS through 6 cathedrals and Bath Abbey in 2008, I was invited to stage the exhibition at several other locations - including Southwell Minster UK, Vasteras Cathedral, Sweden, St James Cavalier Center for the Arts Malta and the Fabricca del Vappore in Milan. This exhibition took place at Digital Art Weeks China which was organised by ETH in Zurich. During the conference week I presented my research to an international gathering of academics, plus the research body of the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts. This exhibition event went on for one month. Attendance at events such as this brings new audiences to digital installations and information presented with the installation reveals the research inquiry and core research questions, plus credits Arts Council, AHRC and University of Bristol as sponsors of the event. During the period of the exhibition around 1500 took part in the work. The URL above also leads to a video report by a Chinese Television station on the Digital Art Weeks and also the installation. One of the newspapers - on which this installation is feature on the front page - has a circulation of 6 million.
