Introduction to JavaScript

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference Contribution (Conference Proceeding)

Abstract

JavaScript is the built-in programming language found in most Web browsers; it is frequently used to add interactive features to Web pages. Many ToolBook and Flash developers end up teaching themselves just enough JavaScript to get by. This session doubles as a quick start introduction for beginners as well as a structured orientation for those who know a little to a moderate amount. Topics will include data, objects, prototypes, communicating with users and manipulating the contents of the Web page. An overview of free tools for editing and debugging will also be covered.
