Abstract
The EPSRC is the main government agency for funding research and training in engineering and physical sciences, investing around £800 million per annum in a broad range of subjects from mathematics to materials science, and from information technology to structural engineering.
The recent appointment of Dave Delpy as its chief executive coincides with a new planning and delivery cycle, significant organisational change
within the EPSRC, and proposed sector-wide changes to research assessment. In conversation with Dr Lesly Huxley, he reflects on academic leadership and his immediate priorities.
