Abstract

Results of the normalised differential cross section measurements of top quark pair production with respect to a number of event-level observables are presented, including missing transverse energy, jet transverse momentum scalar sum, total event transverse momentum scalar sum, leptonic W transverse momentum, and leptonic W transverse mass. Approximately 20/fb of data collected using the CMS detector at the LHC in 2012 at a centre-of-mass energy of s√= 8 TeV are used. The analysis is performed for semileptonic top-antitop events where the charged lepton is either an electron or a muon. Unfolding is performed such that the results can be compared with theoretical predictions at generator level. The results are consistent with standard model expectations.
