Abstract
Forces of emersion and immersion and contact angle measurements have been made during the Langmuir-Blodgett deposition process. The speed dependence of the force for a "soap monolayer" suggests that there are two possible deposition mechanisms. These are discussed in terms of "wetting" theories and their influence on the structure of the multilayer film.
