Abstract
Why do people continue to enjoy various substances which are apparently harmful to them? Using an objective approach, international contributors in diverse fields attempt to answer this question and others involving the complexities of substance use. Their goal is to inform readers of the essential facts regarding substance use, encouraging them to cast aside their prejudices and evaluate for themselves the current views and confusions surrounding this topic.
