Abstract

Seeking asylum in Britain is no easy feat - detention, destitution and the threat of deportation are just a few of the hurdles people can face. So what is it really like to live life in the asylum system? This book explains some of the challenges that members of Migrant Artists Mutual Aid have experienced seeking asylum in the North West of England. Using photographs, poetry and personal reflection, this book not only shows the many hurdles, but the strategies we take to survive through collective action and mutual aid.
