Abstract
We developed oligonucleotide probes, based on plastid 16S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) sequences, to target 10 different algal classes (Chlorarachniophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Cryptophyceae, Eustigmatophyceae, Pavlovophyceae, Pelagophyceae, Pinguiophyceae, Prasinophyceae [clade VI], Prymnesiophyceae, and Trebouxiophyceae), for use with dot blot hybridization technology.
