Abstract
The article discusses the development of Italian Studies over recent years, the challenges that the discipline has faced and the wider context of Modern Languages. It suggests ways in which the discipline can move to a transnational curriculum. Throughout the article refers to the work of the AHRC sponsored project, Transnationalizing Modern Languages (2014-2017).
