Abstract
Based on archive documents, recollections from former members and personal records spanning three decades, this short article summarises the key achievements of the Initial Teacher Education Working Group (formerly Committee) of the National Association of the Teaching of English. It suggests that the Working Group has influenced practice and policy since its inception.
