Abstract
This chapter introduces students to a broad contemporary literature on activist geographies across different scales and spaces. In particular, the chapter aims to foreground different conceptions of resistance, protest, social movements, and activism, including a discussion on autonomous geographies. By doing so the chapter helps decentre the state as the analytical focus in political geography and draws attention towards alternative geographical imaginations rooted in anarchist praxis, intersectionality, and a politics of Total Liberation.
