Abstract
A systematic study of the physico-chemical properties of a series of new catanionic surfactants with ionic liquid properties is reported. Importantly, by avoiding environmentally unfriendly halide and imidazolium based moieties highly tunable surfactant ionic liquids have been prepared. (C) 2012 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
