Abstract

Because we know you have questions about how nutrition relates to your health and to your everyday life, we've developed a book that will help you understand the vast amount of information that exists on nutrition. There are many different vitamins and minerals, each with differing toxicity and deficiency symptoms; it's easy to become overwhelmed with so much information. We've solved that problem by presenting the micronutrients in the context of their function, rather than by their classification. This approach helps you organize the information and appreciate the science of nutrients and their role in your body and your health. Using the functional approach helps you remember what you have learned. Plus, we provide food and nutrition issues and research in a uniquely Canadian context.
