Abstract
Having been invited by the new editors of MT to edit down my interview of someone in mathematics education for each issue of the journal, this writing introduces both a 'From the archive' interview Anna Sfard conducted with Richard Skemp and my reflections on the focus of the future interviews drawing on the interview Caroline Ormesher, part of the new editorial board and a PhD student at the University of Bristol, did of me in the previous issue.
