Abstract

The formation of odd-numbered olefins in chromium-catalyzed ethylene oligomerization in which substoichiometric quantities of diphosphine ligand are used can be attributed to chain transfer between diphosphine-free chromium species and the AlMe(3) present in MAO cocatalysts.
