Abstract

The wellbeing of the farming population has in recent times become an issue of increasing concern and interest. This Opinion explores the interactions between this and farm animal welfare. Where we refer to a “farmer”, we mean the person who cares for the livestock on a day-to-day basis; this might be the farmer or a member of their family, or a stockperson employed on an occasional, temporary or full-time basis.
