Abstract

This paper focuses on converged optical-wireless 5G infrastructures and proposes the novel architecture of “Dis-Aggregated RAN” adopting “disaggregation” of hardware and software components across wireless, optical and compute/storage domains. The proposed approach is evaluated through a purposely developed modelling framework.
