Abstract

Modern communication systems have broad requirements for flexible components.
Adjustable antenna patterns are desirable for beam steering or spatial diversity.
Tunable antennas could enable new multi carrier communications, software defined
radio, and integrated multi-standard devices. Photo induced conductivity in
semiconductors is a promising method of flexible, active control.
