This document reports the methods developed by the SUPEROPT project to inform a supervisor about the decisions made by optimizers. An approach for using the output of the optimizer to enhance the Supervisor’s understanding is presented along with a method to explore complex multi-objective solution spaces. Stochastic optimizations of the Network Manager role are developed and analysis of the method iterations is shown to give useful insight into the solution process as well as providing alternative solutions to a given problem instance.
