OSP - OpenScript Pages for Web publishing

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference Contribution (Conference Proceeding)

Abstract

OSP, OpenScript Pages, is an open source template language for generating Web pages using ToolBook. OSP allows developers to embed OpenScript into Web page templates and generate entire HTML or DHTML Web sites as well as online eLearning content. The output from OSP is ordinary Web pages without the need for Java or a runtime environment on the client or the server. Data to populate the templates can be provided by non-technical content authors via forms and may be extracted from a database, XML or across the Web. This session will introduce OSP through a series of example templates and applications: a Hello World page; a small Web site; a self-assessment quiz; a newsfeed editor; and an application to convert a question bank from WebCT to Blackboard.
