Abstract
Eating is much more than nutritional nourishment of the physical body; how and what we eat can say a lot about how we feel about ourselves and how we relate to others. In every society, food is highly symbolic, saturated with meaning of quality or health related significance. Mealtimes offer opportunities to create shared experiences that are meaningful and can provide a sense of belonging.
