Abstract
This collection of review articles summarises a series of key hot topics in paediatric infection and immunity which are of relevance and importance to specialists in paediatric infectious diseases. These articles will be of interest to paediatricians and infection specialists around the world at the cutting edge of diagnosis, management and prevention of infection. This collection of manuscripts is based on presentations made by leading figures in the field at the 10th anniversary course of the “Hot Topics in Infection and Immunity in Children” meeting held at Keble College, Oxford, UK in June 2012. The editors would like to thank Sue Sheaf for her help in organising the course and Pamela Morison for her help in the production of this supplement. We also thank the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID) for their continued financial support.
