Abstract

This paper will address some of the key technical challenges for enabling on-demand end-to-end Grid Network Services, built on the integrated network Control and Service Planes and the application Service Plane. A novel approach is proposed where the optical network resources can be viewed as 'full Grid resources' to be managed by the Grid applications and, on the other hand, the network Control and Service Planes are able to treat Grid resources at the same level and time of the native network resources.
