Abstract
This exhibition in the window of a Gallery in Venice is a product of my 3rd portfolio of work where I explore the effects of high resolution on the human portrait. This work necessitated engaging with the local community in Cannaregio to produce a set of high resolution moving image portraits that could then be shown life-sized in the Gallery – at the end of the shooting period the community turned out to see the end result. Also the egagement produced Un Tempo Una Volta, a non-iconic representation of Venice. Engagement with communities and subsequent attendance at events such as this brings new audiences to digital installations and information presented with the installation reveals the research inquiry and core research questions, plus credits the AHRC and University of Bristol as sponsors of the event. At this event I also screened Portraits of Glastonbury Tor. Audience of 100.
