Abstract

An intercalated degree in the biosciences is popular with undergraduate medical students in the United Kingdom and considered worthwhile for developing key skills for their future career. Chosen courses often comprise a significant component of project work. High-fidelity simulation provides effective opportunities for intercalating students to carry out work that satisfies deep learning outcomes and with a high-degree of relevance to their future career. This article presents undergraduate student and instructor perspectives on simulation projects as part of intercalated degree courses.
