Abstract

Healthcare Education has evolved as an apprentice model of "see one, do one, teach one" to a model that prioritises patient safety and expectation that learner will "practise on plastic first". Simulation training refers to a technique, not a technology and should incorporate educational best practices and evolving evidence on the most effective ways to leverage this technique. Paediatric Critical Care practitioners work as teams and thus should train as teams. Simulation is an effective methodology to teach teamwork dynamics.
