Single mode source of correlated photon pairs from photonic crystal fibre

    Abstract

    We generate correlated photon pairs at 839nm and 1392nm from a photonic crystal fiber pumped in the normal dispersion regime. This compact, bright, tunable, single-mode source of pairphotons will have wide application in quantum communications.
