Some for all or all for some? Exploring shareholder and stakeholder perspectives  A resource allocation activity

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle (Academic Journal)peer-review

Abstract

This exercise develops participants’ critical understanding of the practical implications of the different shareholder and stakeholder perspectives in organization and management as they operate as different stakeholder groups in a novel and engaging experiential-learning activity. Participants explore these experiences through the lens of the twin issues of management control and employee participation in organizational decision-making processes, recognising the practical significance of these contrasting perspectives in the context of global managers encountering variations in the nature and power of different stakeholder groups across different regional models of organization. The activity was developed for undergraduate and graduate business and management students in an in-person learning environment, although it also runs successfully online.
