Abstract

The statistical mechanics of inhomogeneous model colloid-polymer mixtures was discussed. The properties of 'free' interface between colloid rich (liquids) and colloid-poor (gas) fluid phases were studied. The interfacial phenomena including oscillatory density profiles at the free interface and novel wetting and layering phase transition were analyzed. The extensions of the basic AO model for which geometry based DFT was developed were also elaborated.
