Abstract

(Figure Presented) Redox reactions were utilized to deposit periodically arranged Ag and Au nano-structures within the solvent channels of cross-linked lysozyme crystals (see picture for Ag-doped lysozyme crystals). The ability to crystallize lysozyme in various polymorphic forms provides an opportunity to tailor the architecture of the metalized nanostructures through judicious choice of the protein lattice.
