Abstract
We describe the ‘standard model’ for heavy fermion systems, and the use of the dHvA effect, which may be viewed as a many-body self-energy filter to validate its assumptions. Prompted by new experiments, we also discuss quantum oscillations in the presence of a superconducting order parameter.
