Abstract
The Good Parliament is an independent report, funded by ESRC IAA secondment award. It presents 43 technical recommendations that would make the UK House of Commons a 'Diversity Sensitive Parliament'. Professor Childs was embedded in the House of Commons for six months full time and undertook extensive meetings with MPs, House staff and outside experts on parliament. Drawing on the Inter-Parliamentary Union's gender sensitive parliaments approach, the secondment has already seen the establishment of a new group of MPs in the House - the Commons Reference Group on Representation and Inclusion being established by the Speaker.
