Abstract

A feedforward automatic gain control circuit is described for reducing the amplitude fluctuations caused by multipath propagation. The technique operates at baseband frequencies and is used in conjunction with conventional feedback automatic gain control. Using commercially available integrated circuits fades of 30 dB depth may be reduced at fading rates up to 100 Hz. The circuit is constructed extensively from CCD and switched capacitor technologies and offers the possibility of complete integration
