Abstract

What is the origin of deconstruction? What is the origin for deconstruction? This book attempts to answer these questions by drawing together a range of world-class scholars to investigate the historical, institutional and philosophical origins of deconstruction and to think through the problem of the origin itself, through the figures and texts of Algeria, the Holocaust, Husserl's Origin of Geometry, Rousseau's 'Essay on the Origin of Language', the fourth book of Vergil's Aeneid, Plato, and others.
