Abstract

The authors present calculations of the electrical resistivity and thermopower of liquid Ca, Sr and Ba based on the t matrix formulation of the nearly free electron theory. The results are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data and we argue that the large resistivity of Ba, 306 mu Omega cm, results primarily from a large d contribution to the electron-ion scattering cross section.
