Research output: Book/ReportAuthored book

Abstract

In this collection of some of her published work spanning nearly 4 decades, together with new commentaries, the author argues that sociological and comparative perspectives are essential to understanding the impact of assessment on educational systems. Empirical studies of changing English and French educational policy and practice are used to illustrate her central sociological theory concerning the social role of assessment.
