Abstract

Presents a novel form of pilot single sideband (SSB) modulation for VHF and UHF civil land mobile radio and discusses a technique for suppressing the effects of multipath interference on such systems. These systems require the transmission of a low level pilot along with the wanted modulation to provide the receiver with a reference for the automatic gain control (AGC) and automatic frequency control (AFC) circuitry
