Abstract
An edited volume of 12 chapters, which reconstructs the world of the ‘Newport Medieval Ship’, c.1450-1468. The archaeological remains of this vessel were discovered, and subsequently excavated in South Wales in 2002. Following this the ship has undergone conservation and investigation, prior to it being displayed in Newport. This volume, written by Europe’s leading maritime historians, provides an interprets the vessel, while also providing a more detailed reconstruction of a late medieval maritime world yet accomplished. As such, it will interest: maritime historians, and archaeologists, economic historians, Medieval historians and Welsh historians.
