Bibliographical note
This is my Guest Editor introduction to a Special Issue of the OUP journal 'French Studies'. The article seeks to make the case for critical attention to colour in narrative and poetry. It proposes a fresh approach to colour writing based on three values: colour capacity, colour agency, and colour concept. It then synthesises the findings of the five other contributors to the Special Issue, drawing out their implications for future research.Profiles
