Abstract

This article will set out the work conducted between QMUL and ILPA in developing a Handbook on the Global Compact for Migration (the Marrakesh Compact) for immigration law practitioners. It will present the purpose of the Handbook as giving life to the commitments made within the Marrakesh Compact in the specific context in which it is operating, the UK. In setting out the theoretical framework of the Handbook we will demonstrate why it will be useful to practitioners and how the commitments therein can be translated into the domestic sphere to be of use for advocacy and strategic litigation.
