Abstract

Over the last 10 years, 12 rocky habitat ‘mbuna’ taxa have been translocated to Nkhata Bay on the north-western shores of Lake Malawi from other regions of the lake. Given potential for competition and hybridization with indigenous taxa, further translocations should be avoided.
